I had high hopes for Pinestone Resort, given its great location, but unfortunately, my experience didn't live up to those expectations. The amenities and dining options left much to be desired, and the service fell short as well.

Rooms
5.0
My room was small and dark, showing signs of being rundown with old decor that felt trapped in the late 70s. Not having a working phone or fridge was inconvenient, and the carpet was heavily soiled, which was quite disappointing.
Service
5.0
While some staff were friendly, my experience at check-in was frustrating. I was told that my snowmobiler's package couldn’t be honored because I booked through a travel website, which felt unfair given my confirmation.
Location
5.0
The resort's location is beautiful and close to many outdoor activities, which is a plus. I enjoyed the proximity to the snowmobiling trails, making it an ideal spot for winter sports enthusiasts.
Dining
5.0
Breakfast was a letdown with stale buffet options and terrible coffee. I honestly wished I had ventured into town for a better meal instead.
Facilities
5.0
The resort has the potential with its spa and golf course, but it definitely needs some TLC. While I appreciated the expansive area, the upkeep was lacking.

6.4/10

My stay at Pinestone Resort was a mixed bag. The room was clean and comfortable, but I noticed several areas needing maintenance and updates. The dining experience could have been better with quicker service and fresher food options. Overall, it wasn't the most luxurious stay, but it met my basic needs.

Rooms
6.0
The room I stayed in was spacious and clean, though some decor showed its age. I appreciated the contemporary bedding, which was a pleasant surprise.
Service
5.0
The service was generally friendly, but there were significant delays in the restaurant, which was frustrating, especially with kids.
Location
6.0
The location near Haliburton is great for accessing outdoor activities, but the hotel grounds have some unattractive aspects, like nearby maintenance equipment storage.
Dining
5.0
I found the breakfast offerings disappointing; the buffet had stale pastries and bad coffee, which forced me to seek better options in town.
Facilities
5.0
Though I enjoyed the spacious pool area, it felt too cold for my husband and me. The sauna was also in need of repair, which I found concerning.

6.4/10

I recently stayed at Pinestone Resort for a night, and while there were some positive aspects, overall, I found the experience lacking. The location in Haliburton is beautiful and relaxing, but the facilities and services left much to be desired. The rooms felt dated and didn’t have some basic conveniences that I expected. Overall, I think the resort could benefit from some attention and upgrades in the near future.

Rooms
5.0
My room was clean but very dated, with old furnishings and even a musky smell from the carpets. It also lacked basic amenities like a fridge and in-room safe. The mattress was worn out with noticeable body indents, making my sleep less than comfortable.
Service
5.0
Unfortunately, the service was quite frustrating. When I had a question, the staff didn't seem eager to help, and it took multiple requests just to get housekeeping services, which were minimal at best. I didn’t feel particularly welcomed or taken care of.
Location
7.0
The resort is set in a stunning area, making for a beautiful and serene environment. Being 170 kilometers north of Toronto, it truly feels like a getaway, perfect for relaxation amidst nature.
Dining
5.0
The dining experience was disappointing, to say the least. I found that the selection was limited and the food quality did not meet expectations; my pancakes were cold and unappetizing.
Facilities
5.0
The overall facilities at the resort seemed outdated, which contributed to my overall impression. I hope they invest in renovations soon to improve the experience for future guests.

I had a decent stay at Pinestone Resort, but it had its flaws. While the staff were friendly and the location was beautiful, the facilities and rooms felt a bit worn and in need of maintenance. I enjoyed the dining experience at Stone 21, but the buffet price felt steep for what was available.

Rooms
5.0
My room required some updates, with old carpeting and issues like a non-functional AC. The bedding was comfortable, but the duvet was lumpy, which made it less enjoyable. The lack of a fridge was a bit inconvenient as well.
Service
8.0
The staff were helpful and pleasant throughout my stay. They quickly got me checked in and provided assistance when I needed it. Their friendliness made my experience better despite the room issues.
Location
6.0
I loved the location! The resort has beautiful grounds, including walking trails and both indoor and outdoor pool options. However, the area seemed a little unkempt at times, which detracted from its beauty.
Dining
6.0
I dined at Stone 21, and the food was surprisingly good but a bit pricey considering it was a buffet. I enjoyed the dining atmosphere with a view of the small lake, but I wish there were more affordable options nearby.
Facilities
5.0
The resort has great potential with its golf course and trails, but the condition of some facilities felt neglected. The maintenance issues were apparent, impacting the overall experience.

I had high hopes for Pinestone Resort, but unfortunately, it fell short in many areas. While the staff was friendly and accommodating, the rooms and dining left much to be desired. The beautiful Haliburton location was a plus, but the overall state of the resort was quite disappointing.

Rooms
5.0
The room I stayed in was incredibly outdated and in poor condition. From the broken balcony door to the musty smell, it felt neglected. The bathroom had visible mold, and the overall cleanliness was lacking. While the beds were comfortable, the lack of basic amenities like a functional TV was frustrating.
Service
5.0
The service at Pinestone was one of the few bright spots during my stay. The staff members were very friendly and helpful, going out of their way to assist with any needs I had. They even provided toboggans for winter fun, which I appreciated.
Location
5.0
The location of the resort was quite convenient, situated near Haliburton and easily accessible. However, it was overshadowed by the resort's overall dilapidated state, including an adjacent maintenance shed that detracted from the scenery.
Dining
5.0
I found the dining options to be quite disappointing. The breakfast I had included cold pancakes and congealed eggs, which were unappetizing. I ended up needing to drive into town to find decent food, which was unfortunate given the resort's offerings.
Facilities
5.0
The facilities were underwhelming; they felt rundown and in dire need of renovations. The empty, overgrown pool area was especially disheartening and gave a sense that the resort was not being properly maintained.
